The Canadian Ethics Challenge embodies the mission of CFA Institute by promoting “the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence.” In addition, it focuses on many of the elements of CFA Institute’s Future of Finance initiative: Transparency and Fairness, Regulation and Enforcement and Safeguarding the System. Equally as important, it helps prepare those entering the investment profession for the ethical challenges that they will face in the workplace.

The first ‘Ethics Challenge’ was started by a CFA Society Toronto volunteer in 2014 where three teams, each from the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program in Toronto participated.

George Brown College participated for the first time on 14 February 2019. Click on the button below to open the pdf report about our participation!

2021 Team

The 2021 Team has to have virtual meetings! Jimmy has been on the Dean’s Honour Role for four consecutive semesters, Daniel is the Captain and did a GBC Co-Op at KPMG on Bay St. where he met fellow GBC co-op student Sissi Qi Qi, and Leonid is calling in from Ukraine. We are all hoping that life gets back to “normal” sometime and Leonid comes back to Toronto soon!

Thank you to CFA Society Toronto for providing me with the Final version of the preliminary case to share with my students and thank you to the 2021 Team for producing such a high quality report which shows the benchmark and now provides a template for future teams to reference and build on.
