CFA Institute Investment Foundations® Program
The CFA Institute Investment Foundations Program covered the essentials of finance, ethics, and investment roles, providing a clear understanding of the global investment industry. The zero-cost online learning experience was designed for anyone who wanted to enter or advance within the investment management industry, including IT, operations, accounting, administration, and marketing. Candidates who successfully passed the online exam earned the CFA Institute Investment Foundations Certificate, demonstrating a mastery of core foundational principals of the investment profession.

I encouraged my son who is currently a co-op BBA student at Laurier, to take the course. He spent 100+ hours from January, 2019 – February 17, 2020 studying and practicing the materials. We did not study for the 2 months summer break. The recommended timing is 6 months, however with being busy it took him basically 11 months. Eddie completed the exam on February 17, 2020 which is family day. He was in Grade 9 and 14 years old. Honestly – the Program is easier than his Grade 8 science test to which I could not answer even 1 question. Eddie then completed the Canadian Securities Course in April 2022 at 16 years old.
He and his team mate Cameron also won the Rotman Commerce and the BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab High School Market Simulation Challenge 2022! A little education goes a long way! 😉
